Description
The Substance Abuse Education and Counseling Specialist will support education and counseling services in the East Texas Treatment Facility’s Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility and In-Prison Therapeutic Community programs. Responsibilities include delivering didactic substance-abuse and life-skills sessions, guiding offenders through facility rules and work routines, monitoring behavior, intervening in inappropriate conduct, and maintaining accountability for staff, offenders, and property. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, Correctional Awareness Training, annual in-service training, and an approved annual background check.
