Description

Fairfax County is hiring a Programmer Analyst to build and maintain its data analytics and reporting program. The role develops SQL, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SSRS solutions; collects and analyzes user requirements; designs and deploys reporting and data-visualization solutions; and coordinates with agency users. The position serves as a lead programmer, supports complex software development and troubleshooting, and may require partial telework and support beyond normal workdays.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Four-year college or university degree in Information Systems, Computer Technology, Business, Economics, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: Three years of programming and analysis experience in a complex information systems environment
Preferred Qualifications: Five years of experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports
Experience analyzing user requirements
Experience working with large datasets to develop complex metrics and data reporting
Experience developing SQL queries and code
Experience with IT support for planning, zoning, or related public sector work
Professional experience or exposure to GIS technology
Experience managing and implementing all phases of the systems development life cycle
Ability to engage with business stakeholders and translate their needs into practical solutions
