Description

The U.S. District Court is hiring a full-time Software Engineer to support its technology infrastructure and case management systems in a hybrid arrangement primarily based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role develops and maintains back-end web applications and internal tools using C#, .NET, T-SQL, JavaScript, SQL Server, PowerShell, Bash, and Python; supports secure, reliable, and mission-critical systems; manages releases and source control; and contributes to automation, AI-enabled solutions, cloud services, and modernization initiatives. Applicants need at least two years of specialized experience, including experience at the specified CL-26 or CL-27 level, and the position offers federal benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least two years of specialized experience
At least one year of work at the CL-26 level for placement at CL-27
At least one year of work at the CL-27 level for placement at CL-28
Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing applications with C#, .NET, T-SQL, SQL Server, and JavaScript, and maintaining VB, Perl, or PHP applications
Experience with Visual Studio, Windows development tools, Linux/UNIX environments, and PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
Experience with AI-enabled solutions, including generative AI, machine learning, natural-language processing, intelligent document processing, or workflow automation
Professional certifications or equivalent experience in Microsoft technologies, SQL Server, Linux, cloud services, cybersecurity, project management, or responsible AI implementation
Knowledge of systems analysis, database design, application development, implementation, and maintenance
Experience using integrated development environments for software development, testing, and debugging
Ability to design, maintain, and support application programs across multiple platforms
Experience with source control, Git, automated testing, and structured release and change management
