Description

AECOM is hiring a Project Director (Project Management) in Manchester to lead the local infrastructure project management capability, manage office operations and team development, drive recruitment and commercial performance, and deliver complex multi-disciplinary projects. The role also includes client project delivery, mentoring Project Managers and apprentices, managing commissions, supporting business development, and serving as the primary interface with AECOM clients. Candidates need at least nine years of infrastructure project management experience, NEC3/4 contract knowledge, a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and strong leadership, communication, and digital skills; hybrid work is available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Relevant degree in project management, engineering, environmental science, construction, or a related subject; relevant industry experience may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 9 years of project management experience, including post-contract management and administration.
Experience and knowledge of NEC3/4 contract management.
Experience leading teams, managing resources, and developing less experienced resources.
Experience as a client-side Project Manager in the built environment, including energy, aviation, water, rail, or NEC project management.
Experience in the built environment and all aspects of infrastructure project management.
Experience working in integrated, multi-organisation collaborative teams.
Experience with NEC contracts, particularly PSC and ECC.
Experience advising clients and design teams on value, risks, and programme.
Preferred Qualifications: APMQ or PRINCE2 project management qualification.
Membership of a related professional body, preferably chartered.
