Description

Stellant Systems Inc. is seeking an onsite Project Engineer to join their Space Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) group in Torrance, California. The successful candidate will support technical efforts across all phases of product lifecycle, including development, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and customer support. This role involves general troubleshooting, root cause analysis, developing manufacturing process improvements, and designing upgrades for various technical disciplines such as vacuum hardware, RF/TWT/MPM testing, and microwave power modules. The Project Engineer will also contribute to business development, proposals, and program management functions.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in physics or an engineering discipline is required. A master's degree in one of these disciplines a plus
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant engineering experience that includes a combination of or equivalent experience in: production or development support, electromechanical design, radar or RF systems, electron beam or vacuum equipment, systems or project engineering is preferred.
Project or system engineering with hands-on experience.
Knowledge of the design, manufacturing or testing of RF and/or vacuum technologies, with emphasis on TWTs.
Experience working with engineering drawings or CAD software.
Experience with manufacturing, specifically dispenser cathodes, vacuum hardware, brazing, RF systems, system integration and general mechanical packaging.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to internal and/or external customers.
Experience in interpreting customer specifications into test requirements and comparing against test data.
Ability to work well in a team environment and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Understanding of computer modeling and simulation.
Computer programming skills.
Previous experience in root cause analysis.
