SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts is hiring an on-campus, in-person Props Specialist to plan, create, acquire, modify, and manage props, furniture, set dressing, tools, and materials for theatrical productions. The role collaborates with designers, directors, faculty, and production staff; manages production and prop-shop budgets; maintains inventory; coordinates rentals and borrowing; teaches safe working practices and prop-construction techniques to students; and supports practical lighting fixtures. The position requires a bachelor’s degree, at least one year of hands-on theatrical production experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
