Shield AI is hiring a Propulsion Test Engineer to lead propulsion test planning and execution for its X-BAT autonomous VTOL jet aircraft. The role covers engine, hover, static, integrated, transition, and propulsion-autonomy integration testing; defines test objectives, procedures, hazard analyses, instrumentation requirements, and success criteria; provides technical oversight during high-energy test events; and supports investigations and field deployments. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or a related technical discipline, at least 8 years of propulsion testing experience, and expertise in jet engines, VTOL systems, flight test programs, engine controls, FADEC, thrust measurement, thermal and vibration analysis, and high-energy test documentation. The position offers a full-time regular employee package with pay, bonus, benefits, and equity, as well as a temporary employee package.
