Description

The City of New York is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished prosecutor for a management position in the Domestic Violence Bureau. This role involves assisting in supervising and managing Domestic Violence Bureau and Animal Cruelty Unit staff, training attorneys, managing case assignments, creating schedules, presenting briefings to the District Attorney, formulating negotiated pleas, and handling a curated caseload of active prosecutions. The successful candidate will also oversee the PROACT-DV Unit, interact with various external agencies, conference with defense counsel, second seat trials, and respond to urgent matters.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Extensive experience working with victims of domestic violence and conducting a trauma informed forensic interview.
Substantial investigatory and felony jury trial experience, including cases involving domestic violence.
Prior experience interacting with outside agencies
Significant experience prosecuting domestic violence cases using evidence-based techniques.
Thorough understanding of the doctrine of forfeiture by wrongdoing and its application to domestic violence cases.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior management or teaching experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
