Description
The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children's Services, is recruiting full-time Protective Service Specialists at levels 1, 2, or 3. The role investigates child abuse and neglect, develops family intervention plans, provides in-home services, places children with relatives or licensed foster homes, prepares court reports, coordinates with tribal and community partners, and makes referrals. The position is based in Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Wasilla and requires regular travel to Kotzebue and surrounding rural communities in Alaska, with an alternate work week and possible teleworking within the duty station. Applicants must meet competency-based minimum qualifications, hold a valid Real ID Alaska driver's license, complete a background investigation, and may be required to attend training courses.
