Focused Energy is hiring a Prototype Engineer to perform system integration, testing, and validation for hardware and software supporting laser-driven fusion technology. The role is based onsite in Austin and involves executing test plans, preparing and maintaining test rigs, aligning optics and laser systems, troubleshooting hardware and software, documenting results, and supporting scientists and senior engineers during test campaigns. Candidates should have an engineering, physics, optics, or related technical background, familiarity with optics, laser alignment, test equipment, or hardware/software diagnostics, and strong attention to detail and safety practices.
