Autocar, LLC is hiring a Prototype Engineering Technician in Birmingham, Alabama. The role manufactures, assembles, modifies, and validates prototype, engineering, testing, and special-build heavy trucks, systems, components, parts, tools, and fixtures. Responsibilities include installing and validating components, providing design feedback on bills of materials and manufacturability, fabricating and debugging test systems, performing basic electrical assembly, supporting testing and production implementation, and reworking components. The position requires one to two years of related experience or training, blueprint and schematic interpretation, basic shop math, fabrication capability, and the ability to work safely with tools and mechanical equipment.
