Description
The Prototype Fabricator will fabricate custom prototypes and standard samples to engineering specifications for new products and customer projects. The role involves reading technical drawings, operating lathes, mills, CNC machines, press brakes, and hand tools, performing welding and metal fabrication, determining materials and equipment, collaborating with Engineering, maintaining project records, and packaging and shipping prototypes. The position is based in Rockford, Illinois, runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with possible overtime on Friday and Saturday, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with formal training or an apprenticeship preferred and 3–5 years of fabrication, machining, or welding experience preferred.
