Hennepin Healthcare is hiring a Professional Billing and Coding Specialist to support physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, and coding staff with documentation guidelines, billing trends, quality metrics, provider onboarding, and departmental review projects. The role analyzes provider documentation and billing practices, reviews CPT and ICD-10-CM changes, supports charge capture and coding accuracy, investigates medical necessity and compliance issues, and conducts annual provider quality reviews. It is a hybrid position requiring 80–90% remote work and 10–20% office work, with two years of post-secondary HIM education or three years of external coding and reimbursement experience, and requires an RNCCS-P, CPC, RHIT, RHIACDIP, or CCDS certification or equivalent combination.
