Description
The Claims Adjuster analyzes first reports, evaluates insurance contracts and coverage issues, develops claims files, establishes reserves, pursues recoveries, investigates potential fraud, manages outside vendors, negotiates settlements, and supports team goals and catastrophe operations. The role requires knowledge of insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and regulations, along with strong customer service, communication, negotiation, reserving, and organizational skills. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, while current claims adjuster licenses are preferred but additional state licensures must be obtained.
