Description
The Psychiatric Technician supervises residents during assigned shifts, provides individual life-skills and community-support services, maintains records, facilitates socialization, advocates for residents, and provides crisis intervention. The role is based at the CMS Mental Health Unit at 2401 Penrose Avenue and may include day shifts, including 8am–4pm, 4pm–12am, and 12am–8am. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a social science with one year of mental health experience, or an alternative education and experience pathway, plus communication skills, maturity, willingness to work with chronically mentally ill residents, a valid Pennsylvania license, and required criminal, FBI, and child abuse clearances.
