Description
The Behavioral Health Provider is a licensed independent psychologist serving as a subject-matter expert for mental health and substance use disorder in a facility housing individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The role conducts mental health evaluations, provides individual and group psychotherapy, counseling, behavioral analysis, substance abuse education, and treatment for serious mental health conditions, trauma-related symptoms, suicidal or psychotic behaviors, and post-discharge follow-up. The psychologist also oversees a multidisciplinary treatment program, develops patient treatment plans, coordinates referrals, uses an EHR system, and may respond to medical emergencies. The position requires a doctorate in psychology, at least one year of independent licensed psychologist experience, an unrestricted license, and BLS certification, and is scheduled for full-time 8- or 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week.
