Description
The Public Assistance Consultant / Specialist supports state, local, tribal, territorial, and other eligible applicants through the FEMA Public Assistance Program lifecycle. The role provides technical and programmatic assistance with disaster-related damage identification, site inspections, damage descriptions, scopes of work, cost estimates, documentation, FEMA Grants Portal use, project tracking, procurement compliance, appeals, and closeout. It requires strong analytical, documentation, communication, and organizational skills, typically at least two years of relevant FEMA Public Assistance or disaster-recovery experience, and may involve deployment to disaster-affected jurisdictions, extended assignments, travel, and work outside normal business hours.
