Description
The Spokane County Public Defender is an appointed, regular full-time position responsible for directing the office’s staff, policies, operations, budget, and legal services while also representing indigent defendants in criminal and civil cases. The role supervises attorneys and support staff, manages caseloads and training, advocates with judicial and criminal justice agencies, and maintains case-management and archival systems. Applicants must have an ABA-accredited law school degree, eight years of progressively responsible criminal trial experience including three years in a managerial role, Washington State bar admission, and good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
