Description
The Public Service Librarian manages the operations of a library’s public services department, including circulation, reference, online services, bibliographic instruction, course reserves, interlibrary loan, and document delivery. The role supervises public services, establishes policies and procedures, coordinates with faculty, manages electronic resources and the library website, analyzes usage statistics, serves as the Systems Librarian for WorldShare Management System, and leads hiring and training. The position requires a bachelor’s degree, an ALA-accredited library master’s degree or equivalent, and at least three years of professional experience in an academic library or academic setting; supervisory experience is preferred.
