Description
The Test Engineer oversees the final test department for medium- and high-voltage power cables, supervising operators and performing electrical, mechanical, and physical testing. The role includes partial discharge and AC withstand testing, tensile and dimensional verification, quality control, test-data analysis, equipment calibration, nonconformance investigations, and support for audits and customer inspections. Candidates need an AS/BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field, 1–3 years of cable manufacturing or high-voltage testing experience, and familiarity with industry standards such as UL 1072 and ANSI/ICEA standards.
