Description

JPL is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to join their Quantum Science & Technology research community. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing efforts in precision timing and quantum technologies, focusing on experimental research in the design, development, operation, and testing of trapped ion systems for precision frequency standards and quantum timing applications. This involves hands-on laboratory work with ion trapping systems, cold atom systems, precision measurements, numerical simulations, laser systems, vacuum systems, and quantum measurement techniques. The postdoc will advance next-generation ion clock architectures through experimental investigation, system refinement, and performance characterization, supporting innovation in quantum timing technologies.
