Description
The News Director leads the news department of a radio station and state radio network, overseeing on-air news, websites, social media, reporters, anchors, special programming, and documentaries. The role supervises news employees, coordinates with programming and traffic departments, approves content, manages relationships with affiliates and community newsmakers, and handles breaking news and special events. It requires strong communication, analytical, writing, leadership, and deadline-management skills, along with a BA preferred, 3–5 years of related experience or training, and a valid driver's license and state-mandated auto insurance.
