Michael Baker is hiring a Deputy Program Manager - Design specializing in freight rail projects and program management to support a major public-private partnership with a Class I freight rail client. The role assists the Program Manager with owner’s representative services, plan development and review, schedule and cost estimating, project reporting, inspections, submittal reviews, and coordination of roadway, planning, environmental, and other disciplines. The position is based in the Alexandria, Virginia office, with remote work considered for exceptional candidates and occasional to moderate regional travel required. A bachelor’s degree in civil or railroad engineering and 8–15 years of rail or transit project experience are required; a Virginia or District of Columbia PE license is preferred, and compensation is $135,000–$190,000.
