Description
The Real Property Appraiser conducts appraisals of non-residential real property, including rental apartments, industrial facilities, retail establishments, office buildings, hotels, condominiums, mixed-use buildings, and vacant land. The role defends assessments in administrative appeals before the Board of Equalization and Circuit Court, meets with taxpayers and attorneys, prepares economic-data reports, reviews appraisal quality, and supports training. It requires a bachelor's degree plus three years of real-property appraisal field experience, a valid driver's license, and completion of criminal and driving-record checks. Preferred qualifications include appraisal certification, mass-appraisal experience, macro-analysis experience, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
