Description
The County of Elgin is hiring one temporary part-time Recreationist at Terrace Lodge, a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide, Elgin County. The role plans and conducts group and individual programs for residents, records and reports resident progress, establishes program priorities, schedules activities, evaluates programs, and coordinates with outside agencies and other recreationists. Applicants need a post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, or a related field, the ability to handle physical task demands, and 1 to 3 years of experience in a geriatric environment or equivalent qualifications and experience. Compensation is $27.66–$28.09 per hour, with additional pension, vacation, and assistance-program benefits.
