Description
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and residents at Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home, including assessments, care planning, medication and intravenous therapy, wound care, vital-sign monitoring, patient and family education, emergency response, documentation, infection control, and quality improvement. The role works under the Chief Nursing Officer or Director of Nursing, may occasionally serve as a preceptor, and includes supervising Certified Nursing Assistants and Ward Clerks. Required qualifications include Basic Cardiac Life Support, an active and unencumbered Nevada nursing license, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications; the CAH role also requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support, while the Trauma Nursing Core Course is preferred.
