Description
The Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse provides comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for critically ill patients in a 24-bed unit. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, emergency response, cardiac and respiratory monitoring, intubation, mechanical ventilation, arterial and Swan-Ganz line care, defibrillation, cardioversion, and coordination with other disciplines. The role is full-time at 72 hours biweekly, with a 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. 12-hour night shift and every third weekend, including shift and weekend differentials. Orientation, mentorship, a residency program, committee participation, a clinical ladder, and CCRN certification after two years are offered.
