Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides basic and critical respiratory care to neonates, adults, and geriatric patients, including conventional and high-frequency ventilation, pulmonary function testing, drainage procedures, cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, equipment maintenance, and patient and family education. The role also documents care, supports quality control and staff scheduling, and may assist with bronchoscopies and specialty procedures. Required credentials include NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT, a California Respiratory Care Practitioner license, CPR or BLS certification, and National Board of Respiratory Care registration; preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree and three years of technical experience.
