Description
FirstEnergy is hiring a Planning & Protection Engineer to assess and improve the reliability of Maryland’s distribution systems. The role involves reliability analysis, infrastructure improvement planning, outage and circuit performance projects, regulatory reporting, budgeting, power quality studies, and support for the Distribution Control Center and storm response. The preferred onsite location is the Potomac Edison Headquarters in Williamsport, Maryland, with other Maryland service centers considered based on availability. The position requires an engineering or engineering-technology degree, 0–5 years of engineering experience, knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and willingness to travel and work extra or irregular hours.
