FirstEnergy is hiring a Planning & Protection Engineer to assess and improve the reliability of West Virginia distribution systems. The role involves reliability analysis, infrastructure improvement planning, outage and circuit data analysis, regulatory reporting, budgeting, power quality studies, and support for the Distribution Control Center and storm response. The preferred onsite location is the Mon Power Headquarters in Fairmont, West Virginia, with other West Virginia service centers considered based on availability. The position requires an engineering or engineering-technology degree, 0–5 years of engineering experience, knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and willingness to travel and work extra or irregular hours.
