Description
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Family Medicine is hiring research assistants to support multi-site respiratory virus studies. The role involves recruiting and enrolling child and adult participants, screening and consenting, collecting nasal and throat swabs, administering surveys, processing participant payments, maintaining study records and databases, contacting participants, coordinating site activities, conducting bibliographic searches, managing supplies, and assisting with research tasks. The position requires travel among clinical sites throughout the extended Pittsburgh metropolitan area using a reliable vehicle, independent work at enrollment sites, strong communication and organizational skills, required background clearances and human subjects protection training, and a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree and medical assistant or phlebotomy training are preferred. The schedule can include weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with up to 37.5 hours per week and part-time accommodations.
