Description
The Louisiana State Mesonet is hiring a Research Assistant to design, develop, and maintain an operational, impacts-based geospatial dashboard integrating real-time Louisiana State Mesonet station observations, planned network expansion data, and regional weather-model output. The role focuses on translating weather and water data into drought, flood, soil-moisture, and severe-weather information for stakeholders across the Lower Mississippi River basin, while also maintaining backend data infrastructure, a project webpage, and user feedback processes. It is a full-time, 12-month position currently funded for one year, with possible extension, and requires a relevant master's or doctoral degree, geospatial or web-application experience, backend data-pipeline experience, programming proficiency, and a record of peer-reviewed publications.
