Description
The Balskus lab is hiring a Research Technician to provide experimental support for an ongoing project studying bacterial metabolism in the vaginal microbiome. The role involves designing and executing assays for anaerobic bacterial growth and enzymatic activity, preparing and maintaining microbial cultures, purifying enzymes, analyzing samples with LC-MS/MS, qPCR, RNA-Seq, and biochemical methods, documenting research activities, and supporting laboratory operations. The position is a one-year term, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday on campus, with medical, dental, and vision insurance and other benefits.
