RTI is hiring a Research Engineer to research and develop technologies for secure, adaptable, fast distributed systems and AI-assisted software development. The individual-contributor role involves prototyping, leading small teams, writing proposals, managing research contracts, serving as a principal investigator or staff member, communicating technical innovations, and supporting the transition of innovations to product. The position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field, research expertise, experimental or real-world experience, strong communication and programming skills, and U.S. Person qualification. It offers a hybrid work arrangement with a home-office stipend and a base salary target of 130,000–155,000 in Sunnyvale, California.
