Description
Anthropic is hiring a Research Engineer for its Code RL team to advance models’ ability to write, edit, test, debug, and ship software across real codebases and tools. The role combines research and engineering by designing RL environments and coding tasks, building reward signals and verifiers, running frontier-model experiments, diagnosing model performance, and improving training pipelines. Candidates should have strong software-engineering and Python skills, including async/concurrent programming, and be comfortable owning systems end to end; experience with reinforcement learning, coding agents, verifiers, PyTorch, distributed training, CUDA, or sandboxed execution is advantageous. The role offers an annual salary of $500,000–$850,000 USD, requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, follows a hybrid policy with at least 25% office time, and may offer visa sponsorship.
