The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems IWES is hiring a Research Engineer for its Power Electronics and Grid Integration group at the Bremerhaven site. The role supports commissioning and optimization of converter test benches, develops real-time systems, grid models, and measurement methods for harmonic and electromagnetic transient model validation, documents results, and may lead research and industrial projects. Applicants need a degree in electrical, energy, control, mechatronics, or industrial engineering and management, knowledge of control engineering and grid modeling, and familiarity with electrical power systems and power electronics; MATLAB and PSCAD exposure is preferred. The position is initially limited to three years, offers remote work, and follows TVöD employment terms.
