Research Engineers, Post-Training at Distyl AI

Distyl is hiring a Research Engineer to bridge frontier AI research and production systems. The role focuses on improving AI system behavior through post-training workflows, datasets, preference signals, evaluation suites, reward models, fine-tuning, and feedback loops. Responsibilities include designing experiments, building infrastructure for model comparison and regression testing, analyzing model outputs and production traces, and collaborating with researchers, engineers, and customer stakeholders. The position offers a base salary of $150,000–$250,000, equity, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in the office in San Francisco or New York.
