Description
Microsoft Research is hiring a Data Systems Research Intern to collaborate with researchers and engineers on data management research involving cloud data platforms, resource management, storage, hardware-accelerated query processing, query optimization, auto-tuning, data lakes, and safe and efficient AI-agent interactions with data systems. The internship lasts 12 weeks, requires enrollment in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field, and is available year-round with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. Interns must be physically located at their manager’s Microsoft worksite and submit reference letters, a cover letter, and relevant work or research samples. The base pay range is USD $6,810-$13,480 per month, with a higher range of USD $8,920-$14,610 per month for specific work locations in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
