Description
Microsoft is hiring a Research Intern to perform research on quantum algorithms and quantum information protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computers. The intern will design efficient quantum circuits for algorithmic primitives, analyze complexity for concrete instances and asymptotic behavior, and potentially explore simulation and communication applications. The 12-week internship pairs the intern with mentors and other researchers, requires physical presence at the assigned Microsoft worksite, and is available year-round with applications accepted through the academic calendar. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a doctorate program in mathematics, natural sciences, or a related field; a quantum-information and computation research focus is preferred. Base pay is USD $6,810–$13,480 per month, with a higher range of USD $8,920–$14,610 per month for specific San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
