FAR.AI is hiring a Research Lead to define and own a research agenda aimed at reducing catastrophic risks from advanced AI systems. The role involves building and leading a team of technical staff, directing novel research projects, mentoring researchers, communicating findings, and shaping grants, events, testing, and advising activities. Candidates should have a strong AI or technical research record, leadership or mentoring experience, and substantive engagement with AI safety; a PhD or specific years of experience are not required. The position is full-time, with remote or in-person work in Berkeley, California or Singapore, and visa sponsorship for in-person employees.
