IIASA is hiring two Research Scholars for its Biodiversity, Ecology, and Conservation Research Group to support Horizon Europe projects on European ecosystem conservation and restoration. Position 1 focuses on spatial prioritization for integrated land-use planning, while Position 2 focuses on statistical and process-based ecological modeling of species and population responses to land management and environmental change. Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent experience, expertise in spatial planning or ecological modeling, strong coding and statistical skills, experience with large spatial datasets, and a record of scientific publication. The role is based at IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria, with home-office options, and offers a two-year full-time contract with an annual salary of at least EUR 55,215.00.
