HRL Laboratories is hiring a Research Scientist focused on machine learning, multimodal AI, cognitive state sensing, and cognitive modeling. The role develops adaptive software prototypes for mission-driven research and development, builds cognitive-aware decision-support models, creates algorithms for cognitive state estimation and user modeling, improves human-AI collaboration, and contributes to proposals, publications, invention disclosures, and customer briefings. Candidates should have an MS or Ph.D. in a relevant field, 3–5 years of applied machine learning or AI experience, and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance. The position offers a California salary range of $140,700–$175,950 and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
