Description

The HRZ is hiring a full-time, fixed-term Research Software Engineer (RSE) to support researchers at the TU Darmstadt with high-performance computing (HPC) and research software engineering projects. The role coordinates project reviews, develops an RSE service, manages stakeholder interfaces, conducts needs assessments, analyzes usage data, and organizes training. Applicants need a relevant university degree, empirical-methods and data-visualization knowledge, HPC and RSE fundamentals, project-coordination or science-management experience, and strong German and English skills. The position is based in Darmstadt, starts at the earliest possible date, and runs until 31.12.2030.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Completed university degree (Master or Diplom) in social, economic, engineering, or computer science
Required Previous Experiences: Experience in project coordination or science management
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative empirical methods, including SPSS and R, and data visualization with Power BI
Understanding of HPC architectures and RSE, including FAIR principles, CI/CD, and Git
Strong German and English skills at C1/C2 level
High initiative, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills
Strong communication skills and cooperative working style
