Virginia Tech is hiring a part-time Research Technician to support field crops agronomy research at the Tidewater Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Suffolk, Virginia. The role assists with seed packaging, planting, plot maintenance, harvesting, and data collection for laboratory and field trials. It is an off-campus position averaging 29 hours per week, limited to 1,500 hours between May 1 and April 30, with a salary of $15.00 to $20.00 per hour. Applicants must have a high school degree or equivalent, general crop-production knowledge, independent and teamwork experience, and a valid motor vehicle license; experience in small-plot agricultural research and agronomic systems is preferred.
