Description
The Respiratory Therapist administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy, operates and maintains respiratory equipment, monitors and adjusts mechanical ventilation and oxygen-delivery devices, responds to emergencies, assists with resuscitation and intubation, transports patients, performs pulmonary function studies, and supports new Respiratory Therapy employees and students. The role requires an associate's degree or equivalent, successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, New York Respiratory Therapist licensure, and Basic or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
