Description
The Rigging Specialist assembles and operates rigging equipment to lift and move equipment and materials on construction projects. Responsibilities include selecting and attaching cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, sheaves, grappling devices, braces, and hoisting equipment; assembling and disassembling cranes; splicing and repairing slings; and directing crane operators or hoisting engineers. The role requires at least four years of industrial construction or maintenance experience and knowledge of complex and heavy rigging, lifting machinery, safety procedures, load charts, and blueprint reading.
