Description
The Critical Care Nurse Manager provides overall supervision of the organization in collaboration with and in the absence of the administrative or executive team, makes administrative decisions, ensures patient and staff safety, and oversees nursing operations. The role supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel, supports clinical functions, manages staffing and hospital throughput, coordinates patient transfers and discharges, participates in discharge planning, and responds to acute-unit codes and medical emergencies. It requires RN licensure, CPR or BLS certification, ACLS certification, and several facility-specific certifications, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent education/experience, a master’s degree, five years of technical experience, and one year of critical-care experience preferred.
