Description

The Roadway Illumination Engineer works with the Traffic Safety Division to develop and oversee standards, specifications, practices, and policies for roadway lighting on Texas highways. They collaborate with various stakeholders like TxDOT Districts, contractors, consultants, and manufacturers to ensure safe and effective roadway lighting and electrical systems. Additionally, they are responsible for developing and overseeing training programs for TxDOT employees, contractors, and consultants.

Additional Information

Knowledge of construction, operation and maintenance practice for roadway lighting and electrical equipment.

Knowledge of design and plan preparation methods and requirements.
Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally.
Speaking to present images and ideas in a clear, concise, organized, and interesting manner to optimize audience understanding and keep the group focused.
Performing basic design and drafting.
