Thornton Engineering is hiring a Robotic Operator for its Heavy Plate Work Division to operate a dual-robot gantry welding system with tandem arc capabilities. The role involves fabricating large-scale structural steel components, following robotic welding programs, performing setup and maintenance, meeting AS1554 standards, and maintaining production workflow and safety. No prior robotics experience is required because extensive day-shift training is provided, while applicants should have welding or structural steel fabrication experience, mechanical troubleshooting ability, basic computer skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and physical capability to handle components and stand for long periods.
