Description

The Joint Warfare Centre is hiring a full-time OPFOR Advisor focused on maritime operations and wargaming to support NATO exercises and the NATO 2030 Wargaming Capability Programme. The role advises commanders and staff, develops and leads strategic and operational wargames, coordinates with exercise stakeholders, manages wargame risks, and produces game reports and analytical feedback. It is a three-year definite-duration project-linked NATO International Civilian post based in Stavanger, Norway, with a starting basic salary of NOK 75,465.00 per month and a NATO Secret clearance requirement.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Higher secondary education and completed higher vocational training or a university degree in a relevant discipline, with three years of function-related experience.
Required Previous Experiences: Three years of professional experience designing, developing, and delivering wargames.
Three years of experience in a multidisciplinary team, including at least one year in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications: At least three years of experience designing, developing, and delivering military operational or strategic-level wargames, preferably focused on maritime operations.
Knowledge of NATO structures, policies, and operating principles at operational or strategic levels.
Familiarity with national or NATO military doctrine, policy, processes, arrangements, and procedures.
Staff training and experience at strategic and operational levels.
Certification in wargaming design or development from a professional organization, military training institution, or accredited academic institution.
Valid security clearance
